The design and composition of the individual stand are key factors in making visitors to the event feel at ease. As an exhibitor, this is something that you can influence directly. Boost your service and make your visitors feel more comfortable by using the right furniture for the event. Comfortable seating invites visitors to linger at the booth a little longer, and this means that your customer conversations can go into greater depth, giving you more time to reach a successful conclusion. Counters and shelves can add a finishing touch to the overall concept and set the tone, but which individual details make all the difference?
The corporate design should be reflected in more than just the booth’s color scheme. The shape and style of the furniture also matter. A business with a conservative outlook will confuse customers if it opts for funky furniture. Similarly, heavily upholstered furniture will make a start-up stand out from the crowd for all the wrong reasons. Event furniture can be custom made, tailoring it perfectly for the event concept and the exhibitor.
Just as products should be lit correctly, so should the event furniture. Visitors should feel at home, sitting in a brightly lit area that’s free from glare. If the lighting isn’t perfect, you may need to rely on furniture or possibly partition walls to achieve the effects you’re looking for.
Furniture should fit in with the overall event concept, but it should not stand out too much! Different pieces should match and should not be taken from multiple different collections. For that reason, it’s best to source all pieces for the event from a single manufacturer, collection, and product range.
Event furniture should be comfortable and suitable for consultations with customers. If you want to keep your customer conversations as short as possible, you can of course choose less comfortable bar stools! For longer conversations, comfortable armchairs and couches are more suitable. Ensure that tables and counters are practical as well as good looking. In this respect, the right height is decisive, and tables in particular should offer sufficient place to spread out documentation.
Event furniture should support your overall message, not just by giving visitors somewhere comfortable to sit but also on a technical level. Thus, it’s helpful to hide cable ducts on or behind furniture, to ensure lockable storage space so that documents can be stored securely, and to get furniture at the right height that makes it easy to use a laptop PC.
Note: Event furniture can easily justify higher prices if it offers better quality. Cheap furniture often reveals its low price after just a few uses. While high-quality furniture may demand a greater initial investment, it generates better returns because it can be used over the course of several years, and it enhances the business’s image.
